Assistant Manager
We are the cosiest living room of Amsterdam-Oost, café Fest, located on the Wibauthof. A living room that offers various possibilities for our guests, mostly students; studying/working at your own little desk, lounging on the sofa after attending a lecture, or playing beer pong on one of our wooden tables. A second home, that’s what we want to be for the students and staff of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. A place where development and connection are made possible, for both guests and staff.
Are you the person who lets a team shine with energy, humour and oversight?
Café Fest is looking for a people-oriented (assistant) manager who lets the team grow and, together with Dorus (the other manager), ensures that every day runs smoothly, pleasantly, and well-organised.
At Fest, everything revolves around atmosphere, connection and a good pace. Coffee is your fuel, and beer makes you happy. You are the one who determines the flow and maintains the vibe.
What you will do
– You are responsible for personnel matters: from applications to development discussions
– You coach, guide and motivate the team on the floor
– You guide and support the events team at drinks and parties
– You handle all reservations and collaborate on sales
– You assist on the floor where needed, always with oversight and good energy
– You contribute ideas on how we can do things smarter, faster, and more enjoyably
Who you are
– You are social, involved and energetic
– You are energised by a busy floor and a young team
– You think in solutions, remain calm, and know how to motivate people
– You have hospitality experience and understand what hospitality truly means
– You believe that fun and professionalism can perfectly go hand in hand
