In 2015, Bartel saw the light when Martijn & Martijn opened the student café Fest at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The collaboration was such a success that the namesakes took it a step further in 2018 by opening Bar-Restaurant LELY and café De Groene Olifant. Two unique locations, each with its own concept, appearance, and experience. At the end of the Corona era, Bartel hit the ground running with yet another new location: Café Blooker. The businesses were opened with Hannah (a former employee) as partners. Since Hannah's entry, Bartel has become so much more and better than just Martijn & Martijn. The counter now stands at 5! At all our locations, sociability, fun, and a pleasant working atmosphere are paramount! Of course, this includes the coolest staff outings, a good after-work drink, and fun (sometimes educational) trips. Besides working hard to make our guests' stay a great success, fun is one of the core words in our business operations. If you come to work with us, whether full-time or part-time, we'll also ensure you can grow and learn a lot! You'll have a buddy in your first month to guide you through everything, and you can ask them any questions. Additionally, we organise training sessions so that you can start your job well and confidently. Outside of work, you can go to Equal Yoga for free through us, and we sponsor your ClassPass subscription. Via OpenUp, you can discuss any questions you have anonymously with a psychologist. Quite a package, and it's no surprise that many of us have been working at the various locations for a long time and eventually progress, as mentioned, some have even become co-owners of their own hospitality business!
