Operations Manager

Café Kanis is a lively Amsterdam eatery by the water, where hospitality, entrepreneurship, fun, and togetherness form the basis of everything we do. In the summer, our waterside terrace is full of people enjoying the beautiful weather, guests are diving into the water from our swimming jetty, and visitors in wet swimwear come inside for a coffee, lunch, or even a bottle of sunscreen. In winter, Kanis is warm and cozy, a place where locals love to come in to eat, warm up, and be together.

We are looking for a manager who thrives on a bustling day, maintains an overview without stress, and involves the team in a hospitable, stable, and pleasant way of working. Someone who takes responsibility, thinks along with the business, and takes pleasure in ensuring Kanis runs smoothly every day.

What you will do

You will lead the team and help colleagues grow in service and collaboration
You will be involved in personnel matters such as applications, schedules, and development discussions
You will work closely with the chef to ensure the drinks and wine list complements the menu
You will monitor revenue, staff planning, and daily operational decisions
You will step in on the floor when needed and always keep an overview
You will actively contribute to improvements, efficiency, and quality
You will take on facility tasks and ensure the premises always look tidy and welcoming
You will manage the stock and place orders
