Café Kanis is a lively Amsterdam dining café by the water, where hospitality, entrepreneurship, enjoyment, and teamwork form the basis of everything we do. In the summer, our waterside terrace is full of people enjoying the beautiful weather, guests dive into the water from our swimming jetty, and visitors in wet swimwear come inside for coffee, lunch or even a bottle of sunscreen. In the winter, Kanis is warm and cozy, a place where locals are happy to step in to eat, warm up, and be together.

We are looking for a manager who gains energy from a bustling day, maintains an overview without stress, and guides the team in a welcoming, stable, and pleasant way of working. Someone who takes responsibility, thinks along with the business, and ensures every day that Kanis runs smoothly with pleasure.

What you will do

• You lead the team and help colleagues grow in service and collaboration

• You are involved in personnel matters such as applications, schedules, and development discussions

• You work closely with the chef and ensure that the drinks and wine list match the menu well

• You monitor revenue, staff planning, and daily operational choices

• You assist on the floor when needed and always maintain an overview

• You actively think about improvements, efficiency, and quality

• You take on facility tasks and ensure that the business always looks organized and welcoming

• You manage inventory and place orders

Who you are

• Hospitable, social, and approachable

• You remain calm and organized, even when the terrace is overflowing in the summer

• You have hospitality experience and understand what a strong dining café needs

• You think solution-oriented and take responsibility

• You believe that enjoyment and professionalism strengthen each other

• You enjoy working both during the day and in the evening

• You live in Amsterdam or nearby
