Located in the centre of Amstelplein is Café Blooker, the beautiful old-style house nestled between the skyscrapers at Amstelplein. Among business guests, it is truly well-known! We are open from Monday to Friday for lunch, drinks and dinner, and available for hire during the weekends for parties and events. We completely renovated Café Blooker in the summer of 2022 and gave it a fresh look, carefully composing our menu. Our goal is to pleasantly surprise our guests from early morning until evening with quality, excellent service, and unique combinations that make you want to sneak away from the office for a while. We are now looking for a chef with the passion and experience to set up and run the concept of Blooker. Job Description 
- Conceiving and setting up a new concept and accompanying menu 
- Leading, managing, and hiring the kitchen team 
- Working closely with the rest of the team and the manager on the floor 
- Ultimately responsible for the quality and consistency of the kitchen 
- Coordinating and managing operations in the kitchen 
- Keeping track of purchases and stock management in the kitchen 
- Motivating, encouraging, and correcting staff when necessary 
- Receiving and checking deliveries 
- Ultimately responsible for keeping the workspace clean 
- Working cost-consciously, effectively and efficiently 
- Ensuring compliance with safety and HACCP regulations.  

Who are you? 
- You have demonstrable management experience 
- You are available full-time 
- You have a creative mindset that you can combine with efficiency and speed 
- You keep up with trends in the current market 
- You possess strong communication skills 
- You have a love and passion for the hospitality industry You ensure a pleasant working atmosphere 
- You live in Amsterdam or the surrounding area 
- You are a team player with a positive attitude 
- You hold an SVH diploma (not required)
