In the middle of the vibrant KNSM-eiland, amidst a mix of modern architecture and historical charm, you will find KANIS, a warm and authentic eatery. It is a beautiful location by the water where you can moor your boat at the jetty. The spacious south-facing terrace is the ideal place to enjoy a drink and a snack in the sun. At KANIS, we are not only a daytime establishment where you can have lunch and social drinks, but also a café where you can enjoy our frequently changing international dinner menu daily.
We are looking for a chef to help us with this new project. Do you have experience in developing menus, cost calculations, creating schedules, and managing and are you looking for a new challenge?
Job Description
Leading and managing your team;
Working closely with the team and manager(s) on the floor;
(End)Responsibility for the quality and consistency of the kitchen;
Coordinating and scheduling kitchen operations;
Keeping track of purchasing and inventory in the kitchen;
Motivating, encouraging and correcting staff when needed;
Receiving and checking orders;
Ultimately responsible for maintaining a clean work environment;
Responsible for identifying peculiarities and defects in the work environment;
Cost-conscious, effective, and efficient working;
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations;
Responsible for HACCP.
Who are you?
Proven management experience in the kitchen;
Available full-time (4-day work week negotiable);
Affinity with French-Dutch cuisine, creative attitude;
Responds to trends in the current market;
Good communication skills;
You have a love for the hospitality industry;
Positive attitude;
You are communicatively strong and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere;
You are a real team player;
SVH diploma;
Having a trainer certificate is a plus, otherwise the desire to become one.
