De Groene Olifant is a beautiful and old eetcafé 2.0 in Amsterdam-East near Artis. A place where good food, excellent service, hospitality, and quality drinks take precedence. This beautiful establishment is the place where the whole neighbourhood loves to spend their free time! For De Groene Olifant, we are looking for a chef who is passionate about further developing the organisation and the menu, is creative, and not afraid to combine amazing products from the French and Dutch cuisine on a plate, and above all, is a tremendous team player! You will, together with the current team, be partly responsible for developing the menu, managing the figures, and the daily operations.
Job Description
Leading and directing your team;
Working closely with the team and managers on the floor;
(Final) Responsibility for the quality and consistency of the kitchen;
Coordinating and organising the execution of work in the kitchen;
Keeping track of purchasing and inventory in the kitchen;
Motivating, encouraging, and correcting staff when necessary;
Receiving and checking orders;
Ultimately responsible for keeping the work environment clean;
Responsibility for identifying special features and deficiencies in the work environment;
Cost-conscious, effective and efficient working;
Monitoring compliance with safety regulations;
Responsible for HACCP.
Who are you?
Proven management experience in the kitchen;
Full-time availability (4-day work week negotiable);
Affinity with French-Dutch cuisine, creative mindset;
Responds to trends in the current market;
Good communication skills;
Passionate about hospitality;
Positive attitude;
Communicatively strong and ensures a pleasant working atmosphere;
You are a true team player;
SVH diploma;
Being a trainer is a plus, otherwise, the desire to become a trainer.
