De Groene Olifant is a beautiful and old eetcafé 2.0 in Amsterdam-Oost, under the smoke of Artis. A place where good food, excellent service, hospitality and quality drinks are paramount. This beautiful venue is where the whole neighbourhood loves to spend their free time! Hospitality and conviviality are paramount in this concept and everyone is welcome for a nice beer on the terrace, a delicious bottle of wine with a cheese platter, an extensive dinner in the evening, or a cocktail in the late hours. There is something for everyone and everyone will feel at home here. For De Groene Olifant, we are looking for a sous chef who has an affinity for creating and developing great dishes, aspires to grow within the organisation, and is above all a great team player.
The role;
Leading and managing your team, you are a true team player;
Co-creating the changing three-monthly menu;
Jointly responsible for the quality and consistency of the kitchen;
Keeping track of purchasing and inventory in the kitchen;
Receiving and checking orders;
Responsible for keeping the work environment clean;
Responsibility for identifying special features and deficiencies in the work environment;
Cost-conscious, effective and efficient working;
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations;
Responsible for HACCP.
Who are you?
Proven management experience in the kitchen, or ambitious & quick learner;
Full-time available (4-day work week negotiable);
Affinity with world cuisine, creative mindset;
Good communication skills;
You have a love for the hospitality industry;
Positive attitude & you ensure a pleasant working atmosphere.
