Operations Manager

Bartel is a growing hospitality group in Amsterdam. In 2015, Bartel started with Café Fest, de Groene Olifant, and Bar-Restaurant LELY. At the end of the corona crisis, we came back stronger than ever with two new locations, Restaurant REM and Café Blooker. Each concept has its own unique concept and vision. Due to growth, we are working hard to professionalise our organisation to create a unique guest and work experience. Are you ambitious and do you want to grow with us? For a cluster of three of our establishments in Oost, we are looking for an operational manager. It concerns Café Fest, Café Blooker and Café de Groene Olifant. Each of these businesses has a management team that creates rosters, places orders, and supervises the team. As an operational manager, you are actively involved in supporting and managing these management teams. You identify potential improvements in business processes that contribute to business results and you know how to implement these changes effectively and efficiently. You work closely with the operational owner, and together you are responsible for ensuring the pleasant atmosphere, but above all also for the quality of service, staff, and results. Together you really put the finishing touches. As an operational manager for Bartel, your week starts on Monday morning and ends on Friday afternoon, but you are flexible and committed enough to show your face and step in when necessary outside of these hours.

  • Together with the operational owner, you determine the structure and devise improvements. You implement these with the help of the business manager;

  • In collaboration with the management teams, you implement strategic improvements.

What are we looking for?
  • You have a love for the hospitality industry;

  • You are organisationally strong;

  • You have a sense of ownership and act in the interest of the organisation;

  • You have good self-reflection;

  • You are honest and assertive;

  • You achieve results without affecting the working atmosphere negatively;

  • You see it as a challenge to motivate a team and engage each individual;

  • You are proactive and have infectious enthusiasm;

  • You are ambitious and want to grow with the organisation;

  • You always think two steps ahead of the rest;
