Executive Chef – De Groene Olifant & Café Kanis
De Groene Olifant is a beautiful and historic eatery 2.0 in Amsterdam-East, close to Artis. A place where good food, excellent service, hospitality, and quality drinks come first. At KANIS, we are not just a daytime venue where you can have lunch and enjoy social drinks, but also an eatery where you can enjoy our frequently changing international dinner menu daily. Both establishments attract a diverse audience and offer a unique hospitality experience.
For these two vibrant hospitality establishments, we are looking for an Executive Chef to lead the kitchen teams, oversee operations, and engage in the culinary development of both locations.
What will you do?
Lead and direct your kitchen team, including two sous-chefs.
Work closely with the team and business managers on the work floor.
Develop creative and surprising menus and seasonal dishes that match the concepts.
Coordinate and manage the work execution in both kitchens.
Ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in the kitchen.
Manage purchasing, stock, and work cost-effectively.
Monitor compliance with HACCP regulations and maintain a hygienic working environment.
Interact directly with the owners and contribute to the strategic development of the hospitality establishments.
Motivate, encourage, and coach staff to maintain a pleasant working atmosphere.
Who are you?
Proven experience as an (executive) chef in hospitality.
Leadership experience and strong in team management.
Affiliation with French-Dutch cuisine and a creative mindset.
You respond to market trends and know how to surprise guests.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
You are a real team player and know how to inspire people.
In possession of an SVH diploma; a master diploma is a plus.
Full-time availability (4-day work week negotiable).
