De Groene Olifant is a beautiful and historic 'eetcafé 2.0' in Amsterdam East, within a stone's throw of Artis. A place where good food, excellent service, hospitality, and quality drinks come first. At KANIS, we are not just a daytime spot where you can have lunch and socialise over drinks, but also an eetcafé where you can enjoy our frequently changing international dinner menu daily. Both establishments attract a diverse audience and offer a unique hospitality experience.
For these two bustling hospitality businesses, we are looking for an Executive Chef to lead the kitchen teams, oversee operations, and focus on the culinary development of both locations.
What will you be doing?
Leading and managing your kitchen team, including two sous chefs.
Working closely with the team and the operational managers on the floor.
Developing creative and surprising menus and seasonal dishes that fit the concepts.
Coordinating and managing work execution in both kitchens.
Monitoring quality, consistency, and efficiency in the kitchen.
Managing purchasing, stock, and working with cost-awareness.
Ensuring compliance with HACCP regulations and maintaining a hygienic working environment.
Communicating directly with the owners and contributing to the strategic development of the businesses.
Motivating, encouraging, and coaching staff to ensure a pleasant working atmosphere.
Who are you?
Proven experience as an (executive) chef in the hospitality industry.
Leadership experience and strong team management skills.
Affinity with French-Dutch cuisine and a creative mindset.
You respond to market trends and know how to surprise guests.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
You are a real team player and know how to inspire people.
In possession of an SVH diploma; a mentor/tutor diploma is a plus.
Available full-time (4-day working week is negotiable).
